Teaching Kids with Pizza – Reader Idea
Today’s featured reader idea on Creative Kids Ideas comes from Angie Mohr at Raising Money$mart Kids. Angie expertly combines practical lessons about money, gardening, and health with something kids love: pizza!
Her creative approach is an excellent way to teaching kids about money by using math skills to plan, estimate, and save money with their own pizza garden. This idea also presents many great opportunities to teach children about science while they dig, plant, and maintain their own garden. And the good times and lessons continue when harvest time arrives. Then kids are taught about and reap the benefits of homegrown foods and also get the chance to use the produce they grew themselves to create their own meals! Just think of all the lessons that lie hidden in this project. The great thing is kids will be so busy having fun planting, cultivating, harvesting, cooking, and eating they’ll forget about how much they are actually learning in the process! This project is perfect for home or the classroom.

Thank you to Angie for the excellent and unique idea!
